Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 28, 2026

Rewynd (the "Company", "we" or "us") treats your personal information as important and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and other applicable laws of the Republic of Korea. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our mobile application (the "App"), why we use it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.

Article 1 (Personal Information We Collect)

We collect the following personal information in order to provide the App.

1. When you sign up and sign in

  • Required: email address, password
  • Social sign-in: profile information, email address and other data provided by the relevant platform

2. Collected automatically while you use the service

  • Device information (device ID, OS version, device model, etc.)
  • Log information (IP address, access time, usage records)
  • Location information (only with your consent)

3. Optional

  • Profile photo, interests, date of birth, etc.

4. When you purchase a paid item (consumable)

  • App marketplace transaction identifier (App Store transaction ID, Google Play order ID)
  • Purchase receipt and purchase token (data used to validate the payment)
  • Product name and product ID, payment amount, currency, payment date and time
  • For refund or cancellation requests: reason for the request and the content of your inquiry

All paid items we sell are consumables that are granted to your account immediately upon purchase and are used up when consumed. We do not offer subscription products of any kind, including auto-renewing subscriptions, and therefore do not collect subscription data such as renewal cycles or upcoming renewal dates.

Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment credentials such as card numbers, bank account numbers and payment passwords are handled by those marketplace operators. We do not collect or store payment credentials ourselves.

Article 2 (Purposes of Collection and Use)

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes.

  • Managing account registration and sign-in
  • Identity verification and management of service usage history
  • Providing personalized content and analyzing user behavior
  • Responding to customer support inquiries
  • Providing marketing and event information (with your consent)
  • Improving the service and analyzing errors
  • Processing payments for paid items and granting consumable items
  • Validating payments (preventing fraudulent payments, duplicate grants and tampered receipts)
  • Handling refunds, cancellations and withdrawal of subscription requests, and responding to payment inquiries and disputes
  • Retaining transaction records as required by e-commerce and tax legislation

Article 3 (Retention and Use Period)

We destroy personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved. However, the following records may be retained for the periods required by law.

  • Records on contracts or withdrawal of offers: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on payment and the supply of goods: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records on labeling and advertising: 6 months (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Books and supporting documents on transactions: 5 years (Framework Act on National Taxes, Value-Added Tax Act)
  • Sign-in records: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

Article 3-1 (Account Deletion and the 30-Day Re-Registration Restriction)

When you request account deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and we retain your account identifiers and a minimal set of usage records for 30 days from the date of deletion.

  • Purpose of retention: preventing abusive re-registration, handling complaints, maintaining service stability
  • Restriction: you cannot re-register with the same account information during the 30-day retention period
  • When you can register again: 30 days after the deletion date
  • After the retention period: deleted account information is destroyed, and any later registration is treated as a new account
  • After the retention period: information with no statutory retention obligation is destroyed without delay or irreversibly de-identified

Article 3-2 (Handling of Payment Information for Paid Items)

Our paid items consist solely of one-time purchases of consumable items. The related personal information is handled as follows.

1. Who processes the payment

Payments and payment credentials are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. After a payment completes, we process only the transaction identifier and receipt information passed to us by the marketplace.

2. Receipt validation

To prevent fraudulent payments and duplicate grants, we send your purchase receipt (purchase token) to the marketplace validation server, confirm that it is valid, and then grant the item. Information transmitted in this process is used only for payment validation.

3. Nature of consumable items

A purchased item is credited to your account immediately and is used up when consumed. We retain the remaining balance and usage history only as needed to operate the service.

4. Refunds and withdrawal of purchase

Refunds are handled in accordance with each marketplace’s refund policy and applicable law. We review and retain the transaction identifier, purchase history and inquiry content only as needed to process refunds and respond to disputes.

5. Payment information after account deletion

Unused consumable items are forfeited on account deletion and are not eligible for a refund. Records on payments and withdrawal of offers are retained for the statutory periods described in Article 3 and are used solely to meet legal obligations and to respond to disputes.

Article 4 (Provision to Third Parties)

We do not provide your personal information to outside parties, except in the following cases.

  • When you have given prior consent
  • When required by applicable law

Article 5 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing)

To improve the service we may outsource the following tasks. When we do, we contractually require the processor to comply with all legally mandated personal information protections.

If the processors or the scope of outsourced work change, we will announce the change through this policy without delay.

Article 6 (Your Rights and How to Exercise Them)

You may exercise the following rights over your personal information at any time.

  • Request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information by deleting your account

Requests can be made through the in-app settings menu or customer support.

Payment and transaction records that we are legally required to retain, such as under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, cannot be deleted until the statutory retention period has elapsed.

Article 7 (Destruction Procedure and Method)

Once the retention period expires or the purpose of processing is achieved, we destroy personal information without delay as follows.

  • Electronic files: permanently deleted by a method that prevents recovery
  • Printed materials: shredded or incinerated

Article 9 (Changes to This Privacy Policy)

This Privacy Policy was established on April 8, 2026. This revision, which adds the clauses covering payments for paid consumable items, takes effect on July 28, 2026. The policy may be amended when laws or the service change, and any amendment will be announced through the App or our official website.
