Every story was connectedCUT 01

Every story was connected

Every story we ever loved, every moment that refused to be forgotten, was connected as one.

We called it the Retro Memory LineCUT 02

We called it the Retro Memory Line

We called it the Retro Memory Line.

From one generation to the nextCUT 03

From one generation to the next

It carried the past from one generation to the next. And as long as it held, those memories could never fully disappear.

We were Restoration AgentsCUT 04

We were Restoration Agents

So we protected it. We were Restoration Agents.

But among us, one stopped believing. His name was — Zero Archivist.

The lights went out

The lights went out. The stories vanished, and silence set in.

One memory refused to fadeCUT 08

One memory refused to fade

But something remained. A single memory that refused to disappear.

The Memory Line answered

And somewhere, beyond the silence, the Memory Line answered.

It found someone newCUT 10

It found someone new

For the first time since it was cut, it found someone new. Someone who could remember what was lost — and that someone is you.

PLAY THE PAST.

The one who reconnects the severed Memory Line — that’s you.

SCENE 01 — THE RETRO MEMORY LINE

The moments people loved never fully disappeared

Old films, worn comic books, arcades played until dawn. Every time someone remembered, watched, or played them again, those memories linked into one glowing line. We called it — the Retro Memory Line.

SCENE 02 — BROADWAY

There was one plaza where all the lines gathered

A 1950s New York night. Where the Broadway Theater marquee lights up, the Penny Arcade neon flashes, and trains full of memories roll through Times Square station — Broadway. It was guarded by Restoration Agents: not people clinging to the past, but people calling worlds on the verge of vanishing back into the present.

SCENE 03·04 — THE ZERO ARCHIVIST

The oldest keeper of records raised his film cutter

"A world no one remembers is the same as one that never existed." That was the Zero Archivist's conclusion. The cutter came down, the Retro Memory Line snapped — the Broadway theater's letters shattered, arcade scoreboards dropped to 000000, speech bubbles emptied, and across the river in the Brooklyn jazz bar, the instruments vanished one by one.

Every agent's signal was lost. In the darkened Broadway, MaengDori picks up fallen scraps of film alone. He can't fight, and he can't mend the line — but he remembers how bright this town used to be. "It's not over yet… I still remember."

SCENE 06 — THE LAST AGENT

No registration. No affiliation. But the highest Memory Line response ever recorded

A dead monitor flickers on, and you arrive in 1950 New York — Broadway. Hand the three memory shards you recovered from the theater, the arcade and the newsstand to the Time Bureau director, and you are registered as a full agent and issued an agent suit. "Unregistered candidate confirmed. Restoration authority granted. Last Restoration Agent registered." You are not the audience — you are the last agent who will reconnect the severed line.

SEASON 01 — BROOKLYN, THE VILLAGE OF STOLEN SOUND

Your first mission is one subway stop away: Brooklyn

Once you are registered, the Times Square turnstile opens. Tell porter on the platform where you are going and the train heads for Brooklyn. "Unlike Broadway, this is where the music and street memories of many eras overlap. But one day the town's sounds started disappearing, one by one." This time you are not collecting memory shards — you are collecting sound. Charlie Reed, whose saxophone is blocked; Dottie Hayes, drumming with a ladle after losing her sticks; Frankie Cole, who forgot the final movement of his own song; Ruby Monroe, with a rusted note caught in her throat on every high note; Eddie Malone, leaning on a red sports car instead of his bass. Every sound you recover is logged into MaengDori's Sound Restorer as one of five tracks: SAX · DRUM · PIANO · VOICE · BASS.

SEASON 01 FINALE — THE LAST SCREENING

Five tracks filled, and the cinema doors open

Restore the stage and the speakers, open the first GRAND JAZZ NIGHT show, and the locked Brooklyn cinema opens. Old Brooklyn performances run on the screen — with every sound stripped out. Behind the projector is the "Shadow in the Film", which wound the stolen sounds onto its reels. Finish the last screening alongside the band you brought back and the sound pours out of the reels — and MaengDori hands over his own fedora. "The mark of a real jazzman who took Brooklyn's sound back!"
